Prepare the lens, get ready!
Remove the lens from the packet, rinse with solution and ensure it is perfectly clean. Place the lens on the opposite fingertip to the eye you wish to put it in. Make sure your lens is in the correct position, it should be bowl-shaped in appearance. The lens should sit on the flat part of the tip of your finger.
Use your middle finger to hold your lower eyelid down, use your index finger to hold your eyelashes against your brow., your eye is now wide open. For the right eye use your right hand to hold open your right eye and use your left hand to insert.
Place your contact lens onto your eye
When applying the lens, look straight ahead into the mirror, try not to move your upper eyelid or blink. Once the lens is in place, wait a few seconds for the lens to settle, then look up and down, left and right to allow the lens to to sit comfortably in your eye. Once comfortable you can release your top eyelid and then bottom. Your lens is now sitting as it should, repeat for your other eye.
Continuous wear lenses and daily lenses don't usually require cleaning.
Before you insert a contact lens, you should clean them. Simply wash your hands and dry them, place some liquid solution on your palm and place the contact lens within the liquid solution. Carefully with your index finger rub the contact lens against your palm. Now the contact lens is ready to be worn.
Good hygiene is essential to keep your eyes healthy and contact lenses in good condition. Unfortunately, if you haven't got access to the right lens care solution, nothing else will do. Storage in water has been linked with contamination of lenses that can cause serious eye infections. It's better to dispose of the lenses than to get an eye infection! If you are likely to not have liquid solution available often, consider daily disposable or continuous wear lenses.
Please visit your eye doctor / optician for a consultation and discuss contact lens options.

If you drop a lens you'll need to rinse it thoroughly with contact lens solution before insertion. Ideally it would be good to soak the lens on liquid solution for a couple of hours.
Check the lens thoroughly before wearing and if you feel any irritation or discomfort immediately remove the lens and do not wear.
